Cable Setup & Height Adjustment
Your Solid Strength speed cable rope will arrive to you with slightly loose grub screws within the handle assembly. This is because most users need to adjust the rope to their specific length/height. Before your first use, the grub screw (located at the base of each handle where the cable enters) before using the rope. Skipping this step will result in the handles detaching from the rope.

Setting your cable length
Correct cable length is critical for efficient rope mechanics across single unders, double unders, and triple unders. A cable that is too long creates unnecessary drag and slows rotational speed; one that is too short reduces clearance and causes trip-ups, particularly at the higher RPM required for double and triple unders.

To find your starting length, stand with one foot on the centre of the cable and draw the handles upward — the base of the handle should reach approximately armpit height. Advanced athletes performing double or triple unders often run a shorter cable than this baseline to maximise rotational speed and minimise the arc radius.

Setup sequence
1. Loosen the grub screw on each handle using the provided hex key
2. Thread the cable to your desired length
3. Tighten both grub screws firmly to lock the cable in place
4. Test with a few single unders before moving to higher-speed movements
5. Cut off excess cable with wire cutter pliers (caution, you can't make longer after cutting, so ensure it's not too short)
