Our Solid Strength Intro barbells have a large steel screw-in cap which goes into the sleeve (see picture). This will not break which is what often happens with the ‘end bolt’ on similar entry level bars. Since 2010, we've sold 100's of these barbells to commercial gyms, CrossFit affiliates, high schools, garage gyms as entry level bars for lighter work. While these are not the ideal barbell for Olympic lifting, only experienced lifters will feel the difference.
If you're doing Olympic lifts with bumpers around 100kg or less, these bars will survive being dropped. For slow, compound lifts like squats or deadlifts they're good to 220kg. If you're planning to lift above 220kg, we suggest you upgrade to our 15kg/20kg Hybrid, 20kg Powerlifting, or 15kg/20kg Needle-bearing barbell.
